Upon arrival at Bagdogra, you will be received by a representative and transferred to the Bhutan-India border. On entering Bhutan, your Bhutanese guide will assist with immigration formalities at Phuentsholing.

Overnight stay in Phuentsholing

After breakfast, drive to Thimphu, enjoying scenic views along the way. Stop occasionally to admire the Indian plains, Toorsa River, and Bhutan’s first hydroelectric project.

Arrive in Thimphu and check in to your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure, soaking in the city’s tranquil atmosphere.

After an early breakfast, explore Thimphu’s highlights:

• Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Point) – 167-foot statue overlooking the valley, offering panoramic views.
• Motithang Takin Preserve – Home of Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin.
• Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory – Watch traditional Bhutanese paper being made into lamps, envelopes, and souvenirs.
• Folk Heritage Museum – Insight into Bhutanese culture and lifestyle.
• Thangthong Dewachen Nunnery – A peaceful monastery with scenic views of Thimphu.
• Bhutan Textile Museum – Explore traditional weaving and Bhutan’s textile heritage.
• Coronation Park & Centenary Farmers Market – Enjoy a stroll among flowers, riverside views, and local farm produce.

After breakfast, drive via Dochula Pass (3,100 m). On clear days, enjoy stunning views of the Himalayan range and the 108 chortens adorning the pass.

Continue to Paro, arriving in time to explore the city in the evening.

Start early for the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) hike. This sacred site is where Guru Padmasambhava is believed to have meditated while riding a flying tigress.

The hike takes about 2 hours to the first viewpoint, with a tea stop offering spectacular views. Continue another 45 minutes to reach the monastery itself, soaking in the breathtaking scenery and spiritual atmosphere.

After breakfast, transfer to the Bhutan-India border where your Bhutanese team will bid you farewell. Continue your journey back to Bagdogra for your onward travel
