Entry/Exit Point: Bagdogra (India) – Phuentsholing (Bhutan Gate)

  • On arrival at Bagdogra Airport (India), meet and greet by our representative.
  • Drive towards Phuentsholing, the border town of Bhutan.
  • After completing immigration formalities, continue your scenic uphill drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital.
  • En route, enjoy breathtaking views of mountains, valleys, waterfall and rivers.
  • Check-in at your hotel and rest after a long drive.
  • Evening leisure walk around Thimphu town and explore local handicraft shops.

Overnight stay: Thimphu

Morning:

  • Visit major landmarks of Thimphu:
    • Buddha Dordenma – one of the largest sitting Buddha statues in the world
    • National Memorial Chorten – built in memory of the Third King
    • Tashichho Dzong – the majestic fortress housing the King’s office and monasteries
    • Folk Heritage Museum or Simply Bhutan Museum – glimpse into traditional Bhutanese life

Afternoon:

  • Drive to Paro through scenic mountain routes.
  • On arrival, visit Rinpung Dzong (Fortress of the Heap of Jewels) and the National Museum (Ta Dzong).
  • Stroll through Paro town, visit local cafés and handicraft shops.

Overnight stay: Paro

Morning:

  • After breakfast, hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) — Bhutan’s most iconic landmark perched on a cliffside.
  • Enjoy spectacular views and experience the spiritual essence of Bhutan.

Afternoon:

  • Return from the hike, have lunch, and drive back to Phuentsholing (approx. 6 hrs).
  • From Phuentsholing, continue towards Bagdogra for your onward journey (optional overnight stay at Phuentsholing if needed).
